Natural Advantage Skin Care Products Review

By the Editor | July 2, 2010

Advantage skin care products are available direct from the manufacturer and through numerous retailers.  Are they the right choice for fighting wrinkles and other signs of aging?  Let’s take a look at the ingredients.

The daily moisturizer has an SPF rating of 15.  It contains alpha hydroxy acids.

Alpha hydroxy acids have been included in anti-aging products for years.  There’s nothing “new” about them.

While they may be beneficial in some ways, they can also cause irritation.  There are more advanced ingredients on the market.

The SPF rating of 15 is something that has been recommended for protecting against sun damage.  There are many controversies surrounding regular sunscreen use.  You will have to decide if it is the right choice for you.  There are alternatives.

The Natural Advantage skin care nighttime renewal complex contains retinol.  There’s nothing new about retinol either.  It is the form of vitamin A found in animals.  Consuming too much of it is toxic.

There’s an old saying among traditional Ayurvedic practitioners.  You should not put anything on your sin that you would not eat.

While we do consume some retinol, as it is found in some of the foods that we eat, most of us get what we need from beta-carotene.

Beta-carotene is the vegetable form of vitamin A.  It is non-toxic.  The body converts what it needs to vitamin A and disposes of the rest.

Excess vitamin A causes dry skin, which is one of the side effects of creams containing retinol.  While vitamin A is an antioxidant that can help prevent free radical damage, there are safer choices.  Some are even more effective.

Coenzyme Q10 is a nutrient that is not found in Natural Advantage skin care solutions.  It is found in some of the better anti-aging creams.

It has been shown to reduce wrinkles and roughness, heal the delicate area around the eyes and reduce crow’s feet, without causing any adverse reactions.

Wakame kelp extracts have been shown to help prevent sun damage and protect against the loss of hyaluronic acid from the skin’s layers.  This keeps it firm, smooth and soft.

Wakame is not found in Natural Advantage skin care products.  You might want to do a little more shopping around, before you decide what’s best for you.
